Terms of use
Effective date: 7 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Curious Dev Learn (learn.vladtimchenko.dev), a free, non-commercial project run by Vlad Timchenko, a private individual. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”- Anyone can read the courses without an account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You sign in with Google or GitHub. One account per email address. Keep your account to yourself.
Courses and labs
Section titled “Courses and labs”- The courses are free.
- Labs run against Google Cloud projects that you own and pay for. Google bills you, not us. Set the budget alerts the course shows you, and delete what you created when a lesson says so. We are not responsible for charges in your Google Cloud projects.
- The lab checker sends requests only to the
run.appservices and public GitHub repositories you enter, and only after your service proved it is yours. - Your student id and lab keys are personal. Do not share them. If your student id leaks, tell us at learn@vladtimchenko.dev.
Do not:
- attack, overload, scan or probe the platform, or use the lab checker against services you do not own;
- submit services, projects or repositories you did not build or do not control;
- try to get around rate limits, bot protection or the lab checks;
- choose names or avatars that are offensive, impersonate someone, or suggest you are Google or Curious Dev;
- send false or abusive reports.
Certificates
Section titled “Certificates”- A certificate states that the labs of a course passed against services you deployed. Checks marked “self-reported” rely on what your service reports.
- It is not an official Google Cloud certification.
- The name on a certificate is reviewed and then locked. The certificate page is public to anyone with its link.
- We revoke certificates obtained by cheating. Deleting your account revokes your certificates too.
Moderation and enforcement
Section titled “Moderation and enforcement”Names, avatars and reports are moderated, partly automatically (see the privacy policy). If you break these rules we may refuse content, hide your public profile, suspend or ban your account, and revoke certificates obtained by fraud. If you think a decision is wrong, write to learn@vladtimchenko.dev.

Section titled “Content”Course content and code samples come from public repositories and are provided under the licence stated in each repository. The site’s own source code is public too (link in the footer).
